Beneath I Found Orlando
designer : max condon
This collection follows the story of an individual going through a transition of identity. Studying the current social aspects of masculinity, the garments and design process aim to promote a sensitive man in strong light. Beneath this metaphor for masculinity, I found Virginia Woolf's character Orlando as a muse for a modern man. One that is accepting of change, embracing of close male friendships, and accepting of himself. Throughout the development of these looks this individual emerges from a layered, sheltered state to one of openness and vulnerability. Details from sheltering structures influence geometric drapes that merge with soft textures and delicate prints. Garments act as conceptual ideas with everyday wearable potential.
Here's to a new man.
